Water leaking out the front vents.
Moisture condensation is the natural result of cooling air. The
Whisperkool has a drain for removing collected condensation from
the evaporator coil going to the stainless compressor pan where
it is evaporated and dissipated into the exhausting environment.
Water leaking from the front vents is caused by excessive build-up
of dust from air circulating inside the cellar. This build-up clogs
the drain line from the evaporator pan, causing the overflow.
The only way to effectively solve this problem is to make sure
that the Whisperkool is installed in a relatively dust-free environment.
Your options to resolve this problem are either to send the unit
back to the factory or disassemble the unit and clear the clogged
drain line yourself. However, unauthorized repairs will void warranty
(see below how to get authorizartion). To repair this problem, follow
the steps listed below.

Unplug the Whisperkool unit |

Remove the Whisperkool unit from the wall mounting and set
it on a sturdy workbench. |

Drill out the rivets that hold the case together. These
are found along the top and back. Use a 3/32 (size) drill
bit. |

factory approval, will void the warranty.

Remove the insulation from the top of the unit. |

Look for the condensation collection trough near the front
end. On the left end of the trough (facing the unit from the
front) you will see a drain hole. Use a piece of wire or a pipe
cleaner to clear the drain hole. |

Remove accumulated dust and dirt from the trough. |

Reassemble the unit, and secure the cover using #10 x 1/2" (size)
screws. Plug the unit back in. |
To prevent this from happening in the future, purchase and install
a dust-collecting screen now available from our customer service
department.
Water leaking from rear of unit.
The WhisperKool product is designed to dissipate excessive moisture
by collecting it in the compressor pan and using the natural compressor
heat along with a heating element to remove condensate without the
use of a drain line. Operating the Whisperkool in excessively humid
conditions can cause the unit to accumulate more condensate (water)
then the unit can dissipate while operating, resulting in leakage
of water. In order to resolve this issue, the unit is designed with
a "condensate evaporator" control switch, which will allow
you to operate the heating element continuously whether the unit
is operating, or not.
The Condensate Evaporator switch has three settings: Off, Auto,
and Manual. The correct setting for the Condensate Evaporator switch
depends on your local climate and humidity.
If your cellar is in a very dry climate, you can leave the switch
in the "Off" position.
If you live in a moderately humid climate, try the "Auto"
setting. This will run the Condensate Evaporator whenever the Whisperkool
is running.
For very humid conditions (greater than 50 to 60%), use the "Manual"
setting. This will keep the Condensate Evaporator working even if
the unit isnt running. In the event of water leaking out the back,
set the Condensate Evaporator switch to Manual. Allow the unit
to run for 24 hours. The unit should stop leaking excess condensate
after that time.
Larger units 600 & 8000 come equipped with a drain line, which
should be routed, into a receptacle to collect excess condensate.
