In the unlikely event that your WhisperKool unit is icing up in front, unplug the unit for 24 hours and allow the ice to melt away. There are generally two reasons why this may happen. If the unit works none stop for an extended period of time, the condensation on the front coils will begin to ice up and must be de-frosted in order to begin functioning normally. Setting the PDT/PDT Junior thermostat too low may cause this. The unit is only designed to cool to 55°F. If the thermostat is set lower than 55°F, then the unit will run continuously and begin freezing up.

If the unit freezes up continuously over a short period of time, it may require maintenance by our service department. Please review procedures noted in section.
