| Cabinet Placement |
How close to the wall can I place the back of my wine cabinet?
All wine cabinets need to dissipate heat, which requires some space for air movement. Most wine cabinets require at least SIX inches of space between the wall and the wine cabinet in order for the cooling system to operate properly. Even with top-vent cooling systems, many wine cabinets require THREE TO FOUR inches of space between the wall and the wine cabinet and 18 inches at the top of the cabinet. These space requirements make wine cabinets sometimes seem too intrusive.

Efficient Heat Exchange Properties
Our wine cabinets are engineered for efficient heat exchange performance reducing the space requirements around the cabinet.
Please note: our cabinets require only 2 inches of space to the backwall, 12 inches of clearance above the wine cabinet and 6 inches on each side to ensure proper heat dissipation.

Does it matter whether the wine cabinet is placed on carpet or a hard floor?
If you plan to place your wine cabinet on a carpet, you will need to place a board underneath the wine cabinet to ensure that the leveling legs don't sink into the carpet over time, due to the weight of the wine cabinet plus the weight of wine bottles at approximately 3 lbs each. |
Recommended Solution
Our wine cabinets can be placed on either hard flooring surfaces, like tile and hardwood flooring, or carpets. Wine cabinets, specially when laden with wine, are heavy and the support legs will sink into a carpet over time. However, placing a cabinet on a hard surface can result in the unit's opperational noise yo echo against the hard surface. A carpet underneath the unit will absorb rather than echo the operational noises. For that reason you might consider placing some carpet under a wine cabinet when it is located in a hardfloor environment. Furniture leg pads can be used to help distribute the weight of the cabinet a bit and reduce the depressions into a carpet.
